(Back In The Saddle, Nov 2nd 2006)
As wonderfull as it was today with the temperature reaching as high as 43° , the sun was out with a clear blue sky and virtually no wind. So on a November day in Nebraska, it's the chance to enjoy one more day in the great outdoors before the cold gets the better of us. So we have the change of season, and we have the trees loosing their green leaves, moving on, preparing themselves for the next year, shedding off the old making room for the new. So as the green fades, we remember It's been a long hard road with allot of obstacles to face and cross, and yet once more we are given the chance to enjoy the wonderful weather.
It's a great thing to have such a day to share with friends. It's an even greater thing to see our fellow racer have this nice of a day to enjoy. Cody Gilmore is making his way back, and this time he has gone from Green to Blue. That;s right the Green machine himself has made the move from the Kawasaki we all remember him on, to the Yamaha.
I was able to spend some time at the track with him and Dalton Jones today. I was there braking in my new camera and Cody was there braking in his new 2007 YZ450F.
It's been some time since he was able to ride and I know that we have all been hoping and praying he would be riding again soon. He was in really good form today, enjoying every second on the bike, he said there is allot of work left for him to do but he's working hard to get back in shape and regain his strength and fitness.
He said to me "Man it's great to be riding again!" and you could tell from his endless smile that he was right where he belongs. I asked him what he though of the Yamaha verses the Kawasaki taking into consideration this is a 100% stock bike with nothing done to it. "For a stock bike it really works great, but I defiantly need to change some things. Right now mostly I'm just happy to be back on a bike enjoying the ride."

Well Cody thank you for inviting me out there, and I look forward to the next season that your racing in. As always good luck and have fun.
